Reading Blog - 1984 Chapters 1-4

This week for 2 hours, I started reading a book called 1984 by George Orwell. I wanted to read this book because, I knew that George Orwell was a very reknown man, and also my dad suggested this book because he thought this book was really good for me to read. I read from first book, chapter 1 to chapter 4. The first chapters were about a man named Winston Smith, who is a government official, but his one of the lowest ranked ones. His job is to change the past history to the way that the government wants it to be. Winston is part of the Truth Ministry. There is also a ministry called the Peace Ministry which messages that war is peace. Anyways, the government leader is Big Brother and rules over them. There is a statement that says that 'Big Brother is Watching You'. In the second chapter, we learn that the government has manipulated the young minds of children because we see that the children of the Person's has told on the police, that Winston has done a thought crime. Even the paretns were afraid of their children. As we go on to the third chapter, the readers learn little bit about Winston's little past, but not alot. We see that his got no physical proof such as pictures/letters to see recollect his memory, but Winston feels that it was his fault of his mother's disappearnce. In chapter 4 we basically see Winston doing his job as destroying past documents and making them in to new ones, for example, the Big Brother can never be wrong. From reading just the 4 first chapters, I see that this state that winston is living in is very robotic. Everything has to be done in some kind of way and it is done in that way. I also feel that through Winston's eyes, he barely has any emotions
